Mr. Knut Fournier, a compliance specialist and a lawyer admitted to the Washington State Bar, talked to our students on risk and compliance in the business and banking industries. From his explanation and experience sharing, students learned about this growing areas of professional practice in a number of sectors, especially the financial service industry in Hong Kong. As there is a distinct shortage of suitably qualified persons, there is a high demand for a pool of talented professionals to support the growth and development of the financial services to maintain Hong Kong's position as a leading international finance centre. Students were encouraged to study the Risk and Compliance course offered by the Department so as to get prepared to join the profession after graduation.
