On October 23rd, 2024, the Department of Law and Business at Hong Kong Shue Yan University organised a public lecture titled "The Governance of Charities." We were honoured to have Mr. CK Low as our guest speaker, who shared his valuable insights on good governance about fundraising activities for charities. Mr. CK Low is a retired Associate Professor in Corporate Law at the Business School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and he currently serves as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI), where he holds the position of Chairman of its Qualifications Committee. Additionally, Ms. Ellen Suen, a Senior Manager in Qualifications and Assessments from HKCGI, introudced HKCGI, discussed the path to HKCGI membership, and highlighted the career prospects associated with it.
Following their presentations, an interactive Q&A session was conducted with the audience. Professor Leung Hing Fung, Head of the Department, expressed his gratitude and presented souvenirs and certificates to the two speakers.
