Career Prospects

Graduates will be equipped with a wide range of skills that will prepare them for diverse careers in the business environment. With legal training in a business context, graduates will be equipped to make an important contribution to business operations and management, as well as a solid foundation for further specialisation in the areas of law and business. Our graduates can pursue diverse careers in legal fields, such as legal assistants in solicitor firms and barristers' chambers, or in law enforcement roles, as well as in business sectors including corporate governance, financial regulation, banking and compliance.

Further Studies

Former students of the Bachelor in Law and Business programme have been admitted to postgraduate degree programmes at world-renowned universities. The rigorous training provided by the programme is excellent preparation for students aspiring to pursue master’s or doctoral studies in law and business related disciplines.

Graduates who intend to pursue a career in professional legal practice, by becoming solicitors or barristers in Hong Kong, may consider taking one or both of the following further study programmes:

1. The Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) or Postgraduate Juris Doctor (JD) programmes offered by the law schools of Hong Kong, i.e.    

             - The University of Hong Kong

             - The Chinese University of Hong Kong

             - City University of Hong Kong

2. The Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law (Common Professional Examination) offered by the School of      Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE), The University of Hong Kong.         

 

Graduates who intend to pursue a career in corporate governance and the secretarial profession, may pursue further studies and sit for the examinations of the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme managed by The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. Graduates who have taken the Corporate Governance and Management Concentration are eligible for exemption from up to four subjects in the Institute’s Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme examinations.
