Information Day 2025
On 15 November 2025, the University hosted its annual Info Day for prospective students and guests to explore academic programmes across faculties. The Department of Law and Business took part in the event with a series of interactive and experiential activities that drew strong interest from visitors.

Ms. Ellen Suen, Senior Manager (Qualifications & Assessments) at HKCGI, delivered a lively and inspiring career talk introducing students to the diverse opportunities in the profession of governance. She highlighted HKCGI’s global presence through the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), the advantages of dual membership and dual qualification, and the wide-ranging career paths spanning corporate governance, compliance, ESG reporting, company secretarial practice, and investor relations.

On Monday, 10 November 2025, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, students from the Department of Law and Business were treated to an insightful professional talk by Mr. Mohan Datwani, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKCGI) and a seasoned solicitor with extensive public board experience.
Guest Mediation Demonstration by the HKMC Construction Professional Mediation Group
On 4 November 2025, representatives from the Construction Professional Mediation Group (“CMPG”) (formerly Construction Mediation Division (“CMD”)) of the Hong Kong Mediation Council (“HKMC”) were invited to deliver a guest demonstration session for Year 3 students of the Department of Law and Business at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, in the course LAW314 Commercial Dispute Resolution. The session, kindly arranged by the Department Head, Professor H.F. Leung, provided students with a rare and valuable opportunity to learn directly from leading mediation professionals and to observe first-hand how mediation operates in practice.

Law Society Annual Cocktail Reception
On 10 November 2025, Dr. Nancy Xiao, attending on behalf of Professor Leung Hing Fung, participated in the Law Society of Hong Kong Annual Cocktail Reception held at the Hong Kong Club. The event brought together members of the Law Society, legal practitioners, and professionals from across the sector.
Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2025
On September 6, 2025, the student team -- comprising Dhillon Fatehkaran Singh, Wong Nga Yin and Lin Ruoqi -- earned notable recognition by securing second runner-up in paper writing and first runner-up in paper presentation at the Corporate Governance Paper Competition and Presentation Awards 2025, organized by the Hong Kong Chatered Governance Institute (HKCGI).
