Study Trip to Macao: Exploring Legal Education and Practice in Macao
On 22 July 2026, the Department of Law and Business organized a study trip to Macao, attended by eight students and five staff members. The delegation first visited the Faculty of Law at the Macau University of Science and Technology. The visit featured a panel discussion and academic exchange, followed by a tour of the University History Museum.
In the afternoon, the delegation visited Macao Lektou Law Firm and learned about the firm's legal practice and operations. During the interactive discussion, participants explored the differences between Macao and Hong Kong in professional legal qualifications, legal training pathways, and legal services. They also discussed career challenges facing young lawyers, multilingual legal practice, and Macao's distinctive role in facilitating cross-border investment, trade, and dispute resolution involving Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions.
