I am currently pursuing a Juris Doctor postgraduate programme at CUHK. My path was defined by my studies at HKSYU and, most importantly, by joining the Law and Business Moot Team. What truly distinguishes HKSYU is its educational philosophy of providing opportunities in higher education, especially for those who need that crucial chance to prove their potential. Coming from a non-law background, I was initially overwhelmed by complex research and oral advocacy. I overcame this by seeking feedback from my very supportive teachers, honing my arguments, and practising diligently. I learned to view each critique not as a failure, but as a necessary step towards growth. The skills and resilience I built there became the bedrock for my studies at HKSYU and continue to be indispensable in my JD. To all current students: failure and mistakes aren't the opposite of success; they're part of it. We all stumble—it's what makes us human.
