HKSYU Student Team Participates in ICC-HK International Commercial Mediation Competition 2025
A student team from the Department of Law and Business of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) participated in the ICC-HK International Commercial Mediation Competition 2025, held from 24 to 27 November 2025.
The Competition was organised by the International Chamber of Commerce -- Hong Kong and the Department of Justice of Hong Kong, with the support of the School of Law at the City University of Hong Kong. This year's event brought together more than 40 university teams, providing students with a valuable platform to develop their mediation, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills in the context of international commercial disputes.
The HKSYU team comprised four students from the Department of Law and Business: Fatehkaran Singh Dhillon (Year 4), Kin Hei Nuriel Yip (Year 4), Qian Wang (Year 3) and Jingwei Zhang (Year 3). The team received valuable coaching from professional mediator Ms. Christine Lam and Professor Leung Hing Fung, Head of the Department of Law and Business.
Through their participation in the Competition, the students gained meaningful explosure to international commercial mediation practice and strengthened their practical understanding of dispute resolution. The experience also enabled them to apply their legal and business knowledge in a professional and interactive setting, while learning from mediators, practitioners, and student teams from other institutions.
The Department is pleased to support students in participating in experiential learning opportunities of this kind, which enhance their professional skills and broaden their understanding of contemporary dispute resolution practice.
